He returns as a game analyst for the 1999-2000 season, with occasional work as a studio analyst. Theus joined Turner Sports as a color analyst during the 1994-95 NBA season.
CAREER
After three years at UNLV, Theus was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1978 where he played for six years. He played for the Kings, first in Kansas City, then in Sacramento, for five years. He then went on to play one season each with the Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets, respectively.
In his 14-year NBA career, Theus was a two-time NBA All-Star and one of only six players in NBA history to score over 19,000 points and have over 6,000 assists. He made the All Rookie First Team and was runner up Rookie of the Year.
He has served as analyst for college basketball on ESPN and was an analyst for CBA Basketball for MET Network and ESPN2. Also served as analyst for the Sacramento Kings for the 1993-94 season and was a studio co-host for the Los Angeles Lakers pre-game show from 1993-95.
