GETTING READY Before game
time, go ahead and fill in the top of the scorecard. Make sure you
list the teams, date, and location correctly, so you don't get confused
when you look at this card later.
Next,
use the batting order to fill in the players' information. After
entering the players' numbers, fill in the position by using the
appropriate numbers. Some people prefer to use abbreviations, but
youll have to use the position numbers when you record such
things as double plays, so you might as well learn them. The numbering
system starts with the pitcher, then goes around the bases and into
the outfield. (The shortstop comes between the infield and outfield.)
A designated hitter is represented by "DH".
