Doug Savant is Grant Carlson, the Outbound instructor who leads the hiking expedition along the Colorado River when they are attacked by a splinter faction of the militia group, resulting in the kidnapping of the President's daughter (Jess). Carlson teams up with agent McGregor to face the nearly impossible task of tracking the kidnappers and bringing Jess back alive.
